New Orleans State Office Building
This building was commissioned by the State as a replacement for an existing facility flooded by Hurricane Katrina, the scope included redesign of a large pedestrian plaza, as well as a new courtyard design and pedestrian trees. Holly and Smith Architects, of Hammond, were selected for the design, who selected our firm to provide Landscape Architectural Services. Architectural lighting was incorporated into the entry plaza's paving, within a design which incorporated masonry from the original building. Analyses were performed to ensure a design which integrated well into the densely developed urban surroundings. Scheduled for construction around 2010, this project's funding was eventually allocated to an alternate facility.
