Ponchatoula Area Recreation District Fishing Pier
In January 2013, the Commissioner of the Ponchatoula Area Recreation District #1 (PARD) approached Adam Perkins with a request to design a multi-use pier for the Park’s existing pond. The final design of this amenity was a covered pavilion, which hovers over the water at the end of a forty foot fishing pier. While originally conceived as a “Fishing Pier”, the structure is a multi-use area with shade and seating, and is accessed from the Park’s trail system. The straightforward roof layout borrows from the architectural features of the nearby Gymnasium, and the built-in seating serves both anglers and relaxing park patrons.
