A local developer approached Dufreche-Perkins & Associates with a request to design a lush landscape into a closely confined alleyway adjacent to an apartment building they were renovating. This urban alleyway was to be transformed from a strictly utilitarian access to a historic building, into an attractive entryway for renters and their visitors. Plants were selected for their fine texture and complementary growth habits, and Chinese Parasol Trees were selected to provide a much-needed vertical element in the tall and narrow alleyway.
